X-MEN

The X-Men are a group founded by Professor Theodore Xavier as a response to the emergence of naturally occurring superhumans known as mutants among human society. Dedicated to promoting a dream of peaceful coexistence between mutants and humans, Xavier trained his X-Men in the use of their mutant powers at the Xavier Insitute, forging them into defenders of a world that hates and fears them. Over the years, the heroes of mutantkind found their mission constantly endangered by both reactionary humans and fanatic mutants.

X-FACTOR

X-Factor is a federally sanctioned United States agency established in response to the growing number of mutant related incidents across the country. Created with mission of protecting both humans and mutants, X-Factor operates as America's official mutant response unit. Unlike the X-Men, X-Factor answers directly to the U.S. Government. The team is led by Director Amanda Graves, who believes that coexistence can only be achieved if superhuman abilities are held to the same legal standards as conventional weapons. While many praise X-Factor, critics argue the organization has become a political tool capable of restricting mutant freedoms.

NYPD

The New York City Police Department remains the first line of defense against everyday crime despite the rise of mutants and vigilantes. Over the past decade, the department has established specialized units trained to respond to superhuman incidents, though most officers are neither equipped nor authorized to engage powerful mutants directly. Relations between the NYPD and the city's vigilantes vary widely, with some officers viewing them as invaluable allies while others consider them dangerous individuals operating outside the law.

FRIENDS OF HUMANITY

The Friends of Humanity are the largest anti-mutant movement in the United States. Founded after several high profile mutant disasters, the organization claims to advocate for "human rights and self-preservation" against what they believe is an existential threat. The organization has become increasingly violent, with extremist cells carrying out hate crimes, kidnappings, and acts of terrorism against mutants.

UNITED NATIONS MUTANT AFFAIRS COALITION

The United Nations Mutant Affairs Coalition (UNMAC) was established following the global emergence of mutants to create a international body for mutant affairs. Formed by the United Nations, the Coalition seeks to protect both humans and mutants. The UN works closely with governments to develop standards regarding mutant rights and public safety. Although intended to remain politically neutral, the Coalition has increasingly become the center of debate, with some nations viewing it as humanity's best chance at peaceful coexistence, while others fear its expanding authority could lead to excessive regulation of mutant populations.
